A day full of skills and insights β from the buzzing floors of the Skills Finland Competition to inspiring talks during the Care about IT seminar.
The second day of our trip took us to the Skills Finland Competition in Turku, where students from various countries showcased their skills. We visited the competitions both in the morning and afternoon, where young people worked with full concentration on tasks in healthcare, technology and more. Their enthusiasm and professionalism were clearly visible. The competition demonstrated just how powerful vocational education can be when itβs all about doing, learning, and taking pride in your craft.
Between the competition rounds, we attended a seminar organized by Care about IT. We explored two timely topics: microcredentials and 21st century skills. Speakers included Anni Karttunen, senior expert in education policy at Globedu; Timo Halttunen, senior advisor at Turku University of Applied Sciences; Riika Saurio, junior researcher at LUT University; and Jenna Pesola, education developer at Turku Vocational Institute.
The day ended with an evening reception β a relaxed moment to share experiences, build new connections, and reflect on a day full of inspiration and skills.
