The project
With a growing shortage of healthcare workers and a large gap between the health industry, education, and IT, the healthcare system in the EU is facing a big challenge. In the Care about IT project, 15 partners from four EU countries, coming from both education and the industry, have combined forces to combat this issue.
“Technology is not to be feared. It is only to be understood”
Together, we look at the opportunities and challenges in VET education within the care and IT domains in our regions. By combining our knowledge and experiences, we want to ensure future-proof education in the care sector.
Our hope is that through (re)education and by applying new IT possibilities, the pressure on health care will decrease, studying and working in health care will become more attractive, and patients will be happier.
Ambition
The Care About IT project aims to make healthcare in Europe smarter, more efficient and future-proof by bridging the gap between healthcare, education and IT. Together with our education and industry partners, we provide high-quality vocational education and training (VET) for healthcare professionals, make careers in healthcare and IT more attractive, and ultimately improve the quality of care and patient satisfaction.
Objectives
Future-proof education – Better align healthcare and IT education with practice and the labour market.
Increase digital skills – Students and healthcare professionals learn to use technology effectively.
Reduce workload – Smart use of IT makes healthcare more efficient and increases job satisfaction.
Encourage collaboration – Educational institutions and healthcare organisations work together, nationally and internationally.
Improve healthcare – More attention for the patient, better quality of care and higher satisfaction.
