On our third day in Turku, we saw how technology can truly make a difference in healthcare β from virtual reality to remote care.
On the third day of our trip to Turku, we focused on a series of inspiring site visits. We got a glimpse of how technology is being applied in smart and human-centered ways within the healthcare sector.
The day began with a warm welcome at Kotikunnas, a care home that takes a progressive approach to the well-being of older adults. During a presentation, we learned how they use virtual reality to evoke memories, offer relaxation, and stimulate social interaction. A beautiful example of how technology can truly contribute to quality of life.
Next, we visited the Health Tech Lab at TUAS, the Turku University of Applied Sciences. This lab is a true breeding ground for innovation.
After a pleasant lunch, we continued on to Varha, an organization that provides remote care services. Using technologies such as video calls and digital medication reminders, they offer a safety net that combines security with independence.
It was a day full of inspiration, showing us how technology can make a real difference β when itβs truly aligned with human needs.
