Yesterday, we were hosted by our partner DCTerra in Emmen, where they showed us an excellent example of collaboration between industry and educational institutions such as NHL Stenden Hogeschool, DCTerra, and the University.
At the Greenwise Campus, we received an inspiring overview of Education Based Learning, as well as the importance of retraining opportunities through BBL pathways (working and learning together).
Students participating in these programs shared their experiences with us.
After a delicious lunch prepared by students at Restaurant Stones, we headed to the Kennispoort of NHL Stenden, where we spoke with students about their research projects.
Later, in the Bargeres district of Emmen, we learned more about the regional initiative to improve living conditions at home. This program aims to support people in living independently for longer with the help of technology and community care (naoberschap). They hope to reach 500 households in the next 2.5 years.
We also gained insights into how informal care collaborates with the municipality to support residents within the neighborhood.
After a long and inspiring day full of impressions, the group was able to relax in Groningen and enjoy the beautiful weather.
